Oricon recently asked a thousand men and women which artist of the opposite sex they would sing karaoke to.
The top choice by men was Ai Otsuka, known for many lively hits such as "Sakuranbo." YUI ranked second, followed by a tie for third between Miyuki Nakajima and Ayaka, while aiko ranked fifth.
Women, on the other hand, favored KinKi Kids. The next most popular choices were L'Arc~en~Ciel, Porno Graffiti, Mr.Children, and Kobukuro.

YUI Ties with ERIKA For #8 In Wonderful Voices
In a recent survey, researchers from Oricon asked 2,000 people, "Which celebrity has a wonderful voice?"
Among male celebrities, popular actor and singer Masaharu Fukuyama ranked first. Akira Kawashima of comedy duo Kirin came in second, followed by Shosuke Tanihara, Hiroshi Tamaki, and Hiroshi Abe. Akira Nakao and Leo Morimoto tied for 6th, ahead of Takuya Kimura, Gackt, and Koichi Yamadera.
On the women's side, actress/singer/seiyu Keiko Toda topped the list. She was chosen partly for her range of voices in anime, which includes Matilda from "Mobile Suit Gundam" and Anpanman. Nanako Matsushima, Yukie Nakama, Sayuri Yoshinaga, and Masami Nagasawa filled the rest of the top five (in that respective order). Hitomi Kuroki tied with Miwa Yoshida for #6. YUI tied with Erika Sawajiri for #8 (how ironic), while Ai Otsuka and Hikaru Utada tied for #10.
Congratualations to YUI for once again placing in the Top Ten! She definitely has a wonderful voice. Keep up the good work!

YUI places #3 for 'School Festival Queen' Poll
Fall is a common season for school festivals (known as "gakuensai"). To see who's popular this year, Oricon surveyed a thousand people, asking them which celebrities seem like they would be the festival "king" and "queen."
The "kings" tend to fall along the lines of either popular comedians or good-looking actors. This year, comedy won out, with the silly Yoshio Kojima being an overwhelming favorite. "Hana Kimi" stars Shun Oguri and Toma Ikuta represented the ikemen at #2 and #3 (receiving votes mainly from women), but comedy acts Taka and Toshi, Tutorial, and Moody Katsuyama filled the next three slots. Another comedian, Yakkun Sakurazuka, was #8. The outrageous DJ OZMA ranked 7th. Rounding out the list were hip-hop group FUNKY MONKEY BABYS and actor Yuta Hiraoka, tied for 9th.
Unlike the "kings," the "queens" are chosen primarily for their looks, though comedy still plays a factor (two comediennes, Kanako Yanagihara [2nd] and Sumiko Nishioka [6th] being proof) . At the top was this year's hot topic in gravure idols, Leah Dizon. Our beloved singer YUI was #3, with Erika Sawajiri ranking 4th (though the survey was conducted partly before the "Closed Note" incident), followed by Maki Horikita in 5th.
The last four spots in the top ten were taken by Yui Aragaki, Shoko Nakagawa, Ayaka, and Ai Otsuka, respectively
